The Damascene Mosaic Art, or the wood nut, which is the art of inlaying wood with mother-of-pearl, is one of the ancient professions for which the city of Damascus in Syria is still famous. It was given this name because of the combination of decorations that were mixed in Persian, Turkish, Moroccan and Arab art, and what came from ancient Greek and Greek eras. It is a heritage art that was used to decorate the official reception halls and halls of old Damascene houses. The colors of Ajami painting retain their brilliance for many years. This profession crystallized during the era of the Umayyad dynasty and it was called botanical painting because its colors were extracted from plants.
